Chris Watts 

Hitting | Fielding | Pitching | Catching Instructor | 13U Coach

Coach Chris "5000" Watts is a Columbus, Georgia native with more than three decades of playing, coaching, training, and analyzing baseball experience at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Chris was a two-sport athlete in high school at William Henry Shaw High in Columbus, GA. After high school, he began his college career as a two-sport (football/baseball) athlete at Morris Brown College (2000 – 2001) and finished his baseball career at Jackson State University (2001 – 2005). After obtaining his BS in Biology and MPH in Biostatistics/Epidemiology from JSU, Chris played one year of semi-pro baseball with the DC Dragons of the DMV Adult League. In addition, Coach Watts began his career in clinical and public health research/surveillance. He is currently a senior epidemiologist with the CDC and pursuing his PhD in Health and Human Performance at Concordia University of Chicago with a focus on athletic performance optimization and injury prevention. Through his love for the game of baseball, Chris is also co-host of Boys On The Hill podcast which covers Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) baseball programs as well as an media consultant for the Black College Nine. Coach Watts resides in Cumming, Georgia with his wife and three daughters
